crowede Geschrieben vor 1 Stunde Melden Geschrieben vor 1 Stunde Colleagues, a technical question. Our renders keep coming back looking flat and lifeless despite the geometry being fine and materials being correct. Something about them reads as artificial and I can't articulate what. Someone suggested the problem is lighting rather than anything else. Is that likely, and what should we be specifying differently? Zitieren
kreoto Geschrieben vor 1 Stunde Melden Geschrieben vor 1 Stunde Hello. Almost certainly lighting, and it's the single most common cause of that unplaceable artificial quality. Correct geometry and materials still read as dead without convincing light behaviour - bounce, soft shadows, subtle variation across surfaces. Proper lighting rendering is what separates convincing images from obviously computed ones. What to specify: time of day, weather conditions, and whether you want interior lights visible. Vague briefs produce default midday sunshine which flattens everything. Also ask for a lighting test on one view before committing all angles, it's a small extra step that prevents redoing an entire set. Zitieren
