Я выбрал игру, основанную на древнеегипетской мифологии. Не из-за темы, а из-за визуала. Чистые линии, стилизованные иероглифы, приглушённые охристые и лазурные тона. Я поставил минимальную ставку и запустил вращение. И произошло странное. Я не следил за выигрышными линиями. Я следил за движением. За тем, как символы выстраиваются в композицию, как вспыхивают спецэффекты, не нарушая общей гармонии, как плавно камера меняет ракурс при активации бонуса. Это был не игровой процесс. Это был просмотр бесконечно генерируемого цифрового искусства, где я мог влиять на его создание одной кнопкой. Мой творческий блок начал таять не потому, что я нашёл вдохновение, а потому, что я перестал давить на себя. Я просто наблюдал за чужой, безупречной работой дизайнеров и аниматоров. И завидовал им. Здоровой, чёрной завистью: «Я тоже так хочу». Я переключился на live-дилера. Рулетка. Но не про шарик. Про кадр. Идеальная композиция: зелёное сукно, деревянное колесо, белый шарик, руки крупье в белых перчатках. Как кадр из хорошего фильма. Я ставил на числа, которые складывались в узоры на поле. Треугольники. Диагонали. Не ради выигрыша. Чтобы завершить картину. А потом я поставил на «зеро». Просто потому, что зелёный квадратик с нулём был идеальным композиционным центром. Шарик прыгал, скакал. И упал. Прямо в него. На столе в кофейне я тихо ахнул. Не из-за выигрыша (хотя множитель был солидный). Из-за совершенства этого момента. Я, дизайнер, задумал композицию. И Вселенная (или её цифровой аналог) её приняла и материализовала. Это был лучший отзыв о моей работе за последний год. Пусть и от бездушного алгоритма. Я вывел деньги. И тут же, не выходя из кофейни, открыл новый документ в иллюстраторе. Не для клиента. Для себя. Я начал рисовать абстрактную композицию, основанную на том, что только что видел: вращающиеся геометрические фигуры, вспышки цвета, игра света и тени. Моя рука двигалась легко, как будто её кто-то разблокировал. Теперь, когда наступает ступор, я не сижу в тишине. Я иду в людное место, открываю свой эпикстар онлайн. Не чтобы играть. Чтобы смотреть. На игру линий, цвета и случая. Это мой цифровой музей, моя инъекция визуального адреналина. Он не даёт мне идей. Он напоминает, зачем я вообще всё это делаю. За красоту. За этот идеальный, непредсказуемый момент, когда всё складывается в безупречную картину. И иногда, очень редко, ты становишься её соавтором.
